Equestrian

Abundant Acres

Land +Shelter’s experience creating safe, state of the art equestrian properties helped these clients create an English riding haven in rural Pitkin County. Only a small portion of the overall 38 acre parcel was slated for development. Buildings were clustered both for ease of use and to preserve the grazing pastureland across the rest of the site. The buildings were intentionally placed downslope of the road and used natural and quiet materials to match the agricultural character of the area and minimize their impact on the surrounding views. Traditional and exposed timber work provides character to all of the buildings, but the hay barn in particular.
